GONDWANA SAMKSHEMA PARISHAD(GSP) Urges State Government to Establish Tribal Law College at Bhadrachalam;
Calls for Public Support for May 24 Adivasi Garjana Sabha in Vajedu
MAY 17 (BHADRACHALAM): The Gondwana Samkshema Parishad (GSP) convened an urgent meeting in Bhadrachalam on Sunday to press the state government to establish a tribal law college centered in Bhadrachalam. GSP State Secretary Puneam Sai Dora said the party demands creation of a law college in the Scheduled Area to serve tribal students.
A law college at Bhadrachalam will equip our youth with knowledge of their laws and rights, Puneam Sai Dora said. He noted that tribal communities in agency areas face serious problems caused by in-migrant non-tribal settlers, and added that strengthening education among tribals is essential to prevent further encroachment and to safeguard reservation benefits and community existence.Puneam Sai Dora also criticized the previous administration for fragmenting the states largest tribal constituency, Bhadrachalam, and for politically engineering the Bhadrachalam parliamentary seat in favor of other groups by shifting influence toward Mahbubabad. He described these actions as detrimental to tribal interests.Urging the tribal public to mobilize, he called on people to make the grand "Adivasi Garjana Sabha"scheduled for May 24 in Vajedu mandal to be held under the auspices of the Gondwana Samkshema Parishad a success.
The meeting was attended by GSP leaders Puneam Pratap, Puneam Var Prasad, Sudhakar, Rajababu and other.
