Two-day Mango and Jackfruit Fair Inaugurated

Mysuru, May 16: A Two-day Mango and Jackfruit (Mela) was inaugurated at the Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry earlier today. C. N. Shivaprakash, the director of Karnataka State Agricultural Produce Processing and Export Corporation Limited (KAPPEC) inaugurated the event with the presence of Dr. Manjunath Angadi, Joint Director of the horticulture department, Mysuru and Dr. Jnanesh B. N. Senior Scientist at the ICSR-JSS Agricultural Sciences Centre, Mysuru.

Hosted by Sahaja Samrudhdha, the event featured varieties of Mangoes and Jackfruit such as Siddu, Shankara, Mankale Red, Haladi Rudrakshi, Dang Surya and Many more. The event also is going to host a Drawing Competition for kids and also a jackfruit weight guessing competition along with jackfruit eating competition shall be held on May 17 from 2 PM onwards. The city residents were spotted purchasing Jackfruit and snacks made from it and also trying out the delicacies such as Jackfruit Palav, Jackfruit Manchurian and Jackfruit Ice Cream at an interesting note.
