In a grand display of devotion, the 36th annual two-day Jor Mela will be held at the Darbar of Peer Baba Rehmat Shah in Patti village, Hoshiarpur district, on May 31 and June 1. Organised by Mukh sevadar Baba Rattan Singh Dhanota with the blessings of Peer Baba Rehmat Shah and support from the community, the event promises an atmosphere of love and reverence.
Baba Rattan Singh Dhanota released the official poster at the darbar, announcing that on May 31, prominent Qavals (devotional singers), g ayaks, and nakals will mark their presence starting at 4 pm with the traditional lighting of lamps (chirag roshan). Performers include Rajesh Chandla, Dalwinder Dayal Puri, Shri Das & Das Shiva Ropar, Raju Shah Mastana, Prem Heera, Upkar Patti, Harry Badshah, G Sidhu, Girdhari Lal & Party.
On June 1, the ceremony of offering chadar (ceremonial sheet) will take place around 10:15 am in the presence of devotees. Special guests include MP Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal and MLA Dr Ishank Kumar Chabbewal. Adding to the festivities, KK Ayurvedic Medicines and Acupressure Physiotherapy Care Centre will set up a free medical camp.
The mela will also feature Ram Mauji Beat Group Chabbewal and Dholi Peer Nigaha, with key support from the village sarpanch and Ajay Parmar. Manjeet Raja will handle stage proceedings.
