The Prize Day Ceremony of La Martiniere Junior School was held on 9th May,2026 with great dignity and enthusiasm at Spence Hall, marking a memorable occasion to celebrate the academic and co-curricular achievements of students from Classes 1 to 5.
The evening began with the arrival of the chief guest Mrs Sangeeta Kukrety, Chairperson, Family Welfare Organisation, Madhya Uttar Pradesh Sub Area. She was welcomed with a guard of honour and great fanfare which included the college equestrian squad and college band. After being introduced to the Senior Management Team and academic staff, the ceremony commenced with a formal academic procession. The Junior School captain Shakti Sharma and the vice-captain Mohd. Arhaan led the procession, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere as Chief Guest Mrs. Sangeeta Kukrety entered the hall along with the principal and Senior Management Team.
Mrs Clover Everett, head of the Junior School introduced the chief guest to the gathering. In a brief yet articulate address, she highlighted the chief guests distinguished accomplishments. Her introduction set a respectful and appreciative tone for the ceremony.
Following the welcome, the august gathering was lead in college prayer by Ms. Roselyn Morris. The prayer set a reverent tone for the event, reminding students and guests of the values of gratitude and humility.
The principals report was released by the chief guest Mrs Sangeeta Kukrety , the principal Mr Gary Dominic Everett and head Junior School Mrs Clover Everett. It offered a comprehensive overview of the schools academic achievements, co-curricular activities, and significant milestones of the academic year. The principal appreciated the dedicated efforts of Ms Roselyn Morris and Mrs Lizbeth Clarke in compiling the report.
The highlight of the ceremony was the Prize Distribution for Classes 1 to 5. Students who excelled in academics, conduct, and co-curricular activities were called upon the stage to receive their awards. Each prize was met with loud applause from parents, teachers, and peers, making it a proud moment for the young achievers and their families.
The Junior School Choir further enriched the occasion with a well-rehearsed school hymn and a song, showcasing the talent and confidence nurtured within the school. Their singing was a testament to the dedicated training of music teachers of the Junior School Mr Amit Singh And Mr Dhananjay Sharma.
The dance performances were another vibrant highlights of the evening showcasing the energy, coordination and stage confidence of the boys. This was made possible by the dedication and patient training of the dance teacher Mrs Mukta Singh.
The Special Awards category was one of the most awaited part of the programme. It included prizes for both, inter class competitions and inter house competitions. The Prashant Singh memorial cup also called the cock house cup, which is given to the house that has excelled in all the inter house competitions went to Cornwallis House. The cup was received by the prefects of Cornwallis House and a very happy house incharge Mrs Sonali Qadar. Prize day also recognized the great efforts put by the teachers throughout the session. Molly Daniels Trophy for the best classroom was awarded to Mrs Uzma Khan (1 E) and Mr Priyank Simon (2 A).
The EDP department of the Junior School under the technically proficient eyes of Mr Wayne Godin and Mr Austin Masih prepared a visual presentation Reminiscing, that offered a nostalgic glimpse into the highlights and moments of the past academic year." In her address, the Chief Guest, Mrs Sangeeta Kukrety spoke with clarity and conviction on the values that shape young minds. She emphasized that discipline, gratitude, honesty, humility, good conduct and responsibility are the foundations of both personal growth and collective progress, urging students to embrace them in every aspect of school life. She reminded the gathering that time should be valued true learning extends beyond textbooks, calling on the boys to carry themselves with pride in their institution and to uphold the spirit of Nation First in all they do. Her words left the audience inspired to approach the coming year with greater purpose, integrity, and commitment to education.
The ceremony concluded with the Principals Vote of Thanks, delivered with warmth and sincerity. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest for gracing the occasion and inspiring the students with her words. Appreciation was extended to the parents for their continued trust and support, to the staff for their tireless efforts behind the scenes, and to the students for their enthusiasm and participation that made the event memorable. The Principal, Mr Gary Everett also acknowledged the contributions of the administrative and technical teams, whose meticulous work ensured the smooth conduct of the programme. He ended by inviting everyone to carry forward the spirit of the day and uphold the schools values in the year ahead.
The programme ended with the singing of the School Song and the National Anthem, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and inspiration. Prize Day of La Martiniere Junior School was not just a celebration of results, but a celebration of effort, growth, and the spirit of learning. It reaffirmed the schools commitment to nurturing young minds and recognizing every step of their journey. The success of the day was a reflection of the steady leadership and clear vision of the Principal Mr Gary Dominic Everett and the Head of Junior School Mrs Clover Everett. Their guidance ensured that every aspect of the programme was well-coordinated, while their emphasis on holistic development encouraged students to strive for excellence in academics, co-curricular pursuits, and character. Under their direction, the event not only celebrated achievements but also reinforced the schools commitment to nurturing responsible and confident young learners for the future.
