Punjabi will not tolerate any attack on its mother tongue: Baltej Pannu

Baltej Pannu, Punjab state media in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party, has condemned the BJP-led Central governments decision to make Sanskrit compulsory and Punjabi optional in Army schools in Punjab, calling it reflective of an anti-Punjab mindset.
Pannu said the BJP has been consistently trying to encroach upon Punjabs rights and heritage, but the people of the state will never tolerate such moves. He added that the partys anti-Punjab decisions have repeatedly become a matter of debate and controversy.
He clarified that the party is not against any language, but said it is unacceptable to relegate Punjabi to a secondary status on Punjabs own soil. Warning the Centre, Pannu said the government should immediately roll back what he described as a public- and Punjab-unfriendly decision.
