Punjab Will Never Forgive Political Parties Shielding Tainted Elements - Brahmpura

Tarn Taran May 13, 2026: ( ) Asserting that opportunism has overshadowed core principles in politics, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Vice President and former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahmpura stated that the people of Punjab will never forgive the past and present ruling regimes for providing political shelter to tainted elements responsible for ruining the state's youth.

He expressed these views while addressing a massive gathering of grassroots Taksali workers at the residence of Sarpanch Nishanbir Singh in village Daleke today.

In a veiled but sharp attack on political rivals and opportunistic forces within the system, Brahmpura remarked, "Some factions believe that political compromises can wash away the sins of tainted individuals, but no one can escape the people's court and the justice of nature. As true Akali soldiers, our loyalty lies with the truth and the principles laid down by our martyrs. We envision the party's rise through clean, dedicated workers, not with the backing of tainted faces."

Addressing the highly sensitive issue of sacrilege, Brahmpura offered a balanced and Panthic perspective on the current state government's performance. "The entire Panth has endured the deep pain of the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The current government's initiative to bring a new law against sacrilege reflects Panthic sentiments. However, instead of limiting this law to paper, it must be made more stringent, robust, and effective at the ground level so that no culprit can escape through legal loopholes," he asserted.

The local leadership fully endorsed Brahmpura's principled and bold stance, vowing to stand by the party like a rock. Addressing the gathering, former Chairman Gursewak Singh Shekh clarified that the entire Taksali leadership stands firmly united for the strength and glory of the Shiromani Akali Dal, refusing to compromise on the party's core principles at any cost.

Prominent figures present at the meeting included President Pargat Singh, Manjinder Singh, Sarbjot Jota Singh, Master Mangal Singh, Jagroop Singh, and Dr. Manjinder Singh, among a large number of party workers. - (ENDS) -
