Kurnool Traffic SI Dismissed From Service In Andhra Pradesh

Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, May 13, AIMA Media Update News : Kurnool Range DIG Dr. Koya Praveen has issued sensational orders permanently dismissing Hariprasad who was serving as a Sub-Inspector (SI) at the Traffic Police Station from service. A member of the 2012 batch, this officer hails from YSR Kadapa district and had served for a significant period in Nandyal district. However, right from the beginning of his career, Hariprasad had earned a reputation as a controversial officer. Previously, while serving at the Allagadda Rural Police Station, allegations surfaced that he had harassed a tractor driver for money. The incident became a subject of intense public debate at the time, as the driver unable to endure the harassment attempted suicide and sent a video recording of the act directly to Minister Lokesh. Taking a serious view of this incident, and acting on the orders of the DGP, Hariprasad had previously faced suspension on one occasion.

The Incident Involving SI Hariprasad's Illicit Relationship and Harassment

Following his suspension, he served in Chittoor district before recently being transferred to the Kurnool Traffic Police Station. However, a few years ago, he allegedly lured a young woman from Nandyal district with deceptive promises and maintained an intimate relationship with her for nearly three years. Upon realizing the SI's true nature, the young woman distanced herself from him and prepared to marry another individual. Unable to come to terms with this, Hariprasad began harassing the young woman and sent personal photographs taken with her in the past to her prospective husband. As this action resulted in the cancellation of her marriage, the victim's parents lodged a complaint with higher authorities.

Kurnool Range DIG Dr. Koya Praveen Dismisses SI Hariprasad

A departmental inquiry conducted by officials into this complaint revealed facts indicating that SI Hariprasad had acted irresponsibly and had harassed the young woman. Kurnool Range DIG Dr. Koya Praveen took a very serious view of the fact that an officer, holding a position of public trust, had behaved inappropriately toward women and misused his authority for wrongful purposes. Based on the inquiry report, a decision was taken to dismiss Hariprasad from service. Through this order, the DIG made it clear that there is no room for indiscipline within the police department and that strict action is inevitable against officers who exhibit such behavior.
