Himanta Biswa Sarma Sworn In As Assam CM For The Second Time

Guwahati, May 12, AIMA Media Update News : Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in today as the Chief Minister of Assam. This marks the second consecutive time he has assumed responsibilities as the Chief Minister. The state's Governor, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, administered the oath of office to him. The ceremony was held with great fanfare at the Veterinary College Ground in Khanapara, Guwahati. Along with Himanta Biswa Sarma, four other ministers also took the oath of office. This is the third consecutive time that the NDA alliance has formed the government in Assam. Prime Minister Modi, along with several Union Ministers, attended the swearing in ceremony. BJP leader Rameswar Teli was sworn in as a minister. Additionally, Atul Bora a leader from the AGP party (part of the BJP alliance) and Charan Bora from the BPF also took their oaths as ministers today.

It is well known that the BJP alliance achieved a resounding victory in the recently concluded Assembly elections. The NDA coalition secured a total of 102 seats. Out of the 126 seats in the Assam Legislative Assembly, the BJP alone captured 82 seats. The AGP and BPF parties each won ten seats. He became the first BJP leader in the history of Assam to assume the responsibilities of Chief Minister for a second consecutive term.
