Traffic Advisory Issued for Anti-Drug Rally in Anantnag

Anantnag: The Traffic Police Rural Kashmir issued a traffic advisory on May 8 regarding a mega rally (Padh Yatra) scheduled in Anantnag town on May 9, 2026, as part of the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.” Vehicular movement will be suspended from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM on key routes including General Bus Stand Anantnag to Batengoo Fruit Mandi Crossing, Mehndikadal to K.P Chowk, and Railway Station Crossing Wanpoh to Khanabal Crossing.

Authorities have advised commuters to avoid these roads during the event hours to prevent inconvenience. Diversion plans have been announced to ensure smooth traffic flow, with traffic from Srinagar and Jammu to Pahalgam being redirected via Doonipora Crossing, Padshahi Bagh Bridge, Apple Valley-Srigufwara Road, and Langanbal Diversion Point. Return traffic from Pahalgam will use the reverse route via Langanbal Diversion Point and Bijbehara Market towards NH-44. The advisory was issued by the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural Kashmir in public interest.
