Lucknow Police Crack Down on International Sex Racket Networks

Lucknow: The Lucknow Police have launched an aggressive campaign in 2025 and 2026 targeting international sex racket networks operating in elite residential areas such as Sushant Golf City, Gomti Nagar, and near Apollo Hospital. The crackdown began on June 10, 2025, when a special team led by DCP South raided a luxury villa in Ansal API, arresting five individuals including two women from Uzbekistan. The masterminds identified were Dr. Vishal Singh and self-proclaimed journalist Amit Verma, who used their professional influence to operate the syndicate from apartments behind Apollo Hospital. Authorities seized significant foreign currency and high-end digital equipment during the raid.

In 2026, the operation intensified with major busts on January 15 near Apollo Hospital led by gang leader Ranjit Yadav and on February 12 in Gomti Nagar involving Mohammed Kamrujamal alias Rahul, who used a cafe to lure and blackmail women under the guise of job offers. Links were also traced to Irshad Pathan in Meerut. The Lucknow Police Commissioner emphasized zero tolerance, enforcing mandatory verification for guest houses and homestays in Sushant Golf City and Apollo areas. All primary accused remain in 14-day judicial custody while a comprehensive financial investigation is ongoing.
