Gambharimaliha: Annual Gond Community Meeting Held with Awards and Cultural Event

Kishorenagar: The annual general meeting of the Gond community Brahmanidei Punja was held at Gambharimaliha Ambatota area in Kishorenagar block of Anugul district. The meeting commenced with traditional worship to Lord Janghadev. Discussions focused on adherence to social customs, preservation of culture, attracting youth to tribal traditions, and maintaining good relations within the community.

During the meeting, the annual income and expenditure accounts were presented, and internal loan transactions among members were conducted. Outstanding student Jharana Nayak from Gambharimaliha village was awarded Rs 1,000 by the Punja for her achievements in the high school certificate exam. Former editor Ranjan Nayak personally awarded an additional Rs 1,000 to encourage her. The program concluded with an attractive cultural event led by Brahmanidei Punja president Raghava Nayak and editor Kush Kumar Nayak, with around 250 men and women from eight nearby villages participating.
