Road Accident In Kerala Actor Santhosh Nair Passes Away

Pathanamthitta, Kerala, May 6, AIMA Media Update News : Renowned Malayalam actor Santhosh Nair (63) has passed away following a road accident. The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday near Enathu in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. A speeding lorry approaching from the opposite direction collided violently with the car in which he was traveling. Santhosh, who sustained severe injuries in the crash, was rushed to a hospital; however, he breathed his last while undergoing treatment after suffering a cardiac arrest.



Santhosh Nair's wife, Shubhashree, also sustained severe injuries in the accident. Reports indicate that the lorry driver was also injured. Santhosh was born on November 12, 1960, in Thiruvananthapuram. Although both his parents were teachers, Santhosh entered the film industry driven by his passion for acting.



Santhosh Nair made his silver screen debut in 1982 with the film 'Ithu Njangalude Katha' and went on to act in over 100 films throughout his four decade long career. He entertained Malayalam audiences by portraying a wide variety of roles ranging from lead hero and villain to supporting actor and comedian. Tragically, 'Mohiniyattam' which is currently running in theaters turned out to be his final film. Starring Saiju Kurup in the lead role, this movie is scheduled to begin streaming on Netflix starting May 8. The Malayalam film industry has expressed its deep condolences over the passing of Santhosh Nair.
