Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain announced that the Census 2027 process has commenced in the district, with self-enumeration scheduled from April 30 to May 14, 2026. Following this, enumerators will visit every household from May 15 to June 13, 2026, to collect census data.
The Deputy Commissioner explained that self-enumeration allows citizens to fill in family details themselves via the online portal https://se.census.gov.in. The family head can register using their mobile number and answer 33 basic questions online. This process is simple and encourages greater public participation.
She added that a detailed survey will follow in February 2027. Families who complete self-enumeration can simply show their reference ID to the enumerator, streamlining the process. For those who don't, enumerators will record the full details during home visits.
Ashika Jain stated that the district administration has made all preparations to conduct the exercise transparently and smoothly. She appealed to all residents to participate in self-enumeration in maximum numbers, ensuring the census is completed swiftly, accurately and effectively.
The Deputy Commissioner clarified that all personal information collected during the census will remain completely confidential. The data will be fully secure, with the government implementing all necessary safeguards to protect privacy. Citizens need not worry, as the information will be used solely for census purposes.
She emphasized that the census forms the foundation of the country's development plans, making every citizen's cooperation essential.
