Urgent Demand for Infrastructure Upgrade: New Transformer and Poles Required at Lower Thathar
JAMMU – Expanding on the ongoing power crisis advocacy, Mohammad Anees Choudhary, General Secretary of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Jammu and Kashmir unit, has identified Lower Thathar, near Parsvanath Passion Flats (Bantalab, Jammu North), as a high-priority zone requiring immediate electrical intervention.
The RLD leader pointed out that the rapid residential growth in the area near Parsvanath Passion Flats has far outpaced the existing electrical infrastructure. Residents in this specific pocket of Jammu North are struggling with an overloaded system that was never designed to sustain the current number of households.
Key Demands for Lower Thathar:
Immediate Installation of New Transformer: To prevent frequent burnouts and low voltage, a high-capacity transformer must be installed specifically to serve the households in the Lower Thathar vicinity.
Expansion of Pole Network: The current "long-span" wiring—where wires stretch across massive distances without support—must be replaced with a proper sequence of new poles to ensure safety and stability.
Modernization of Wiring: Replacement of old, frayed service lines with insulated cables to prevent short circuits during the upcoming summer heat.
"The area near Parsvanath Passion Flats in Bantalab is a clear example of administrative neglect," said Choudhary. "We are demanding that the PDD department conduct an immediate site inspection at Lower Thathar and sanction the necessary poles and transformer equipment before the peak of summer hits. The residents of Jammu North cannot be left to suffer while the infrastructure remains stuck in the past."
