MSME-DFO Kolkata Promotes Green Transition at Industry Workshop


Kolkata, April 16, 2026: A one-day workshop focusing on sustainable growth and green transition for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) was successfully organized by the Bharat Chamber of Commerce on April 16 in Kolkata.

The programme witnessed active participation from the MSME Development & Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), Kolkata, highlighting key initiatives under the MSE Spice Scheme and other government-backed programmes aimed at encouraging eco-friendly industrial practices.

Delivering the keynote address, Vinamra Mishra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, emphasized the urgent need for MSMEs to adopt sustainable technologies and practices to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving global market. He outlined various policy measures and incentives designed to support green transformation in the sector.

A special address was presented by P.K. Das, Director of MSME-DFO, Kolkata, who highlighted the role of regional offices in facilitating awareness, capacity-building, and implementation of government schemes at the grassroots level.

The workshop served as an important platform for industry stakeholders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and explore practical pathways for integrating sustainability into MSME operations. Discussions also focused on financial support, technological upgradation, and compliance with environmental standards.

The initiative reflects a growing commitment from both government bodies and industry organizations to drive India’s MSME sector towards a greener and more sustainable future.
