Semiliguda Gears Up for Grand Sri Sri Sri Agni Ganga Maa Festival from May 3

Semiliguda | Apr 15, 2026 — A general preparation meeting for the upcoming Sri Sri Sri Agni Ganga Maa festival was held today at the Agni Ganga Maa Temple in Semiliguda, bringing together villagers, community leaders, and key administrative officials to plan for the annual religious celebration. The meeting was attended by Semiliguda Tahasildar Debabrata Karati, SDPO of Sunabeda Sumitra Jena, IIC of Semiliguda Anita Kujur, MLA of Pottangi constituency Rama Chandra Kadam, and former MLA of Koraput Raghuram Padal, along with a large number of local residents.

During the meeting, it was decided that the Sri Sri Sri Agni Ganga Maa festival will be held from May 3 to May 13, 2026, with all traditional rituals, religious ceremonies, and cultural events to be conducted in a grand manner. The event is considered one of the most significant spiritual gatherings in the region and draws large participation from nearby areas every year. The meeting was organized by the Sri Agni Ganga Maa Development Committee (SAGAMD), where members presented a detailed account of last year’s expenditure and reviewed the remaining balance, while also outlining the financial planning required for this year’s preparation.

Addressing the gathering, Tahasildar Debabrata Karati assured that the administration would extend full cooperation in terms of civic arrangements, land management, and maintaining order during the festival period. SDPO Sumitra Jena stated that adequate security measures would be put in place to ensure the safety of devotees and smooth conduct of the program, while IIC Anita Kujur emphasised the importance of public cooperation in maintaining discipline and harmony throughout the celebrations.

MLA Rama Chandra Kadam assured the gathering that he would take necessary steps to facilitate fund collection and provide support to make the festival a grand success. Former MLA Raghuram Padal also expressed his appreciation for the collective effort of the villagers and organizers, highlighting the importance of preserving such cultural and religious traditions.

The villagers present at the meeting expressed enthusiasm and pledged their active participation in organizing the festival, ensuring that the celebrations of Sri Sri Sri Agni Ganga Maa continue to uphold their cultural significance. With preparations now underway, Semiliguda is set to witness a vibrant and devotional atmosphere during the ten-day festival in May.
