Sopore Lecturer Suspended After Student Alleges Harassment

A senior lecturer posted in north Kashmir’s Sopore has been suspended after a girl student accused him of harassment.

Senior Superintendent of Police Sopore said a case has been registered and investigation has been initiated following the allegations.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir has placed the lecturer under immediate suspension and ordered an inquiry into his conduct. The Joint Director (North) has been appointed as inquiry officer and asked to submit a report within 15 days.

Following the incident, students staged protests in Sopore demanding strict action against the accused.
