Prominent social worker and jeweller Dharminder Kumar Tony has been appointed as the Provincial General Secretary of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Trade Wing. The appointment was made by SAD Provincial President Sukhbir Singh Badal and Trade Wing Provincial President N.K. Sharma.
The decision has sparked joy in the Hindu community and the Jewellers' Association, who believe SAD will now make every possible effort to permanently resolve the longstanding issues faced by the jewellers' fraternity by honouring Tony with this key role.
Dharminder Kumar Tony also serves as General Secretary of Phagwara City Club and has held various positions in the Jewellers' Association. A leading businessman with a strong presence across multiple locations, Tony commands significant influence among jewellers in the Doaba region.
Expressing gratitude for the appointment, Tony thanked SAD Provincial President Sukhbir Singh Badal, Trade Wing Provincial President N.K. Sharma, and former Minister Bikram Singh Majithia, noting that the honour will help address the problems of people in the Doaba region.
