Two young

men are feared to have drowned in the Jhelum River after accidentally slipping into the water while washing their sheep near the Padshahi Bagh area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

According to reports, the incident took place during routine livestock washing when both individuals lost balance and fell into the river, prompting immediate concern and rescue efforts.

Soon after the incident, police along with teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reached the site and initiated a search operation to locate the missing duo.

Officials confirmed that both youths are residents of Jablipora village in Anantnag district.

Rescue teams continued their search along the river stretch at the time of filing this report. More details are awaited.
