BJP Unveils Welfare-Focused Manifesto for West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026

Kolkata, April 2026 — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its much-anticipated manifesto for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026, outlining a series of welfare-driven promises aimed at women, youth, and government employees.

The manifesto, presented by senior BJP leadership including Amit Shah, highlights direct financial assistance and social support as key pillars of the party’s electoral strategy in Kolkata and across the state.

Among the major announcements is a monthly financial aid of ₹3,000 for every woman, to be credited within the first five days of each month. In a move targeting unemployed graduates, the party has also promised ₹3,000 per month as assistance to help youth prepare for competitive examinations and job opportunities.

The BJP manifesto further pledges free travel for women in government-operated buses, aiming to enhance mobility and safety. For government employees and pensioners, the party has assured implementation of the 7th Pay Commission within 45 days of coming to power, along with provisions for Dearness Allowance (DA).

In the healthcare sector, the party has proposed free cancer screening and HPV vaccination for women, focusing on preventive care and early detection. Additionally, the manifesto includes a commitment to implement the Uniform Civil Code within six months, a move that is likely to generate significant political debate.

Political analysts view the manifesto as a strategic attempt by the BJP to broaden its voter base in West Bengal by combining economic support with structural reforms. The promises come at a time when electoral competition in the state is expected to be intense.

With campaigning set to intensify in the coming weeks, all eyes are now on how rival parties respond to these announcements and how voters across West Bengal perceive the proposed initiatives.
