DISTRICT POLICE KISHTWAR ARRESTS ABSCONDER EVADING ARREST FOR FIVE YEARS

In a significant breakthrough, District Police Kishtwar apprehended an absconder who had been evading arrest for the past five years.

Acting on specific information, a police team led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar, Insp. Firdous Ahmed, along with IC Police Post Drabshalla, PSI Bhupinder Singh, under the close supervision of Dy.SP Headquarters Kishtwar, Dr. Ishan Gupta-JKPS, conducted a well-coordinated raid at a suspected location in Himachal Pradesh and successfully arrested the absconder.

The accused has been identified as Avtar Singh S/o Gulab Singh R/o Thakrai, Tehsil and District Kishtwar, who was wanted in connection with FIR No. 123/2021 registered under sections 376/354 IPC and relevant provisions of the POCSO Act at Police Station Kishtwar. He had been evading arrest since 2021.

SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS, has issued a stern warning to all absconders, urging them to surrender before the law at the nearest police station. He further emphasized that strict legal action under the relevant provisions of the (BNSS) will be taken against those who continue to evade arrest.
