The vandalism of Dr. Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar's statue in Nurpur Jattan village, Hoshiarpur district, has sparked widespread outrage among locals and various Dalit organizations. The BJP has also strongly condemned the incident.
Addressing the gathering, former Union Minister Som Prakash stated that desecrating Baba Sahib's statue is an attempt to hurt religious sentiments, which will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He sharply criticized the Punjab government led by the Aam Aadmi Party, saying its law and order machinery has already failed. "If the culprits are not arrested immediately, the BJP Punjab unit and the public will stage massive protests against AAP," he warned.
Those present included Punjab SC Morcha President S.R. Laddhar, Dr. Dilbag Rai Sheetal Angural, Avtar Singh Dandian, Urban Mandal President Naresh Kotraani, Mandal President Mauli Ramesh Lal, Chandresh Kaul, Councillor Bira Ram, and other BJP leaders from the state.
