Notorious Drug Peddler Apprehended by PS Gursai; Contraband Seized

In continuation of its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Police Station Gursai achieved a significant success by apprehending a notorious drug peddler during naka checking in its jurisdiction.

The accused has been identified as Israr Ahmad S/o Mushtaq Ahmed R/o Pathanateer. Acting on reliable inputs and during routine checking, the police team intercepted the suspect. Upon search, approximately 13.20 grams of Heroin like substance and 11.84 grams of Charas-like substance were recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 32/2026 under relevant sections 8/20/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gursai. The accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway to unearth forward and backward linkages involved in the illicit drug trade.

District Police Poonch reiterates its firm commitment towards a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking. General public is once again urged to come forward with any information related to drug peddling so that strict legal action can be taken against offenders.
