Tribal's Chaitra Festival and flower garland ceremony observed in Malkangiri

The tribal Chaitra festival, celebrated during the spring month of Chaitra, marks renewal, joy, and a deep bond with nature. It is widely observed among indigenous communities with traditional rituals, music, and dance. The villagers of Ramaguda, Mathili block observed the festival with flower garland. A distinctive feature of the festival is the use of colourful flower garlands, symbolising purity, prosperity, and harmony with the natural world. People decorate themselves and sacred spaces with fresh blossoms, offering them to deities and elders. The festival strengthens community ties, preserves cultural heritage, and expresses gratitude for nature’s abundance and the arrival of a new agricultural season.
