The hideouts and battlefields of the fighters should be preserved here and facilities should be increased for tourists. A grand light and sound show should be arranged in Debrigarh to bring the story of Veer Surendra Sai's struggle alive. A huge victory pillar should be built at the entrance to Debrigarh, which will remain a silent witness to the great uprising of 1827. An 'eco-heritage' model should be prepared to combine the memory of this struggle with the protection of wildlife sanctuaries, said the Bargarh MP. National seminars, exhibitions and cultural programs should be organized in Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar and New Delhi throughout the year. A special commemorative postage stamp and books and photographs based on his biography should be prepared on this occasion. A long-distance express train passing through Sambalpur or Bargarh should be named 'Veer Surendra Sai Express'. Paintings related to the struggle of Veer Surendra Sai and a magnificent statue of him should be installed at Bargarh Road and Sambalpur railway stations and special arrangements should be made to show this historical battlefield of western Odisha to tourists through the 'Bharat Gaurav' train.
