Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation ne elan kiya hai ke 31 March ko Mahavir Jayanti ke mauqe par shehar ke andar tamam slaughterhouses aur meat shops, jin mein beef shops bhi shamil hain, band rahenge. Commissioner RV Karnan ne officers ko hidayat di hai ke apne apne ilaqon mein is order ko sakhti se lagu karein. Mahavir Jayanti Jain dharm ka ek aham teohar hai jo Mahavira ki paidaish ki yaad mein manaya jata hai.

GHMC pehle bhi Independence Day, Republic Day aur Gandhi Jayanti par is tarah ki pabandiyan lagata raha hai. Is faisle par kuch siyasi rehnumaon ne tanqeed bhi ki hai, jisme Asaduddin Owaisi ne ise “unconstitutional” qarar diya tha. Phir bhi authorities ne is baar bhi festival ke mauqe par is order ko implement karne ka faisla liya hai.
