CPI(M) leader in Kerala booked for sexual relations with woman on false marriage promise

PATHANAMTHITTA (KERALA): (Mar 20) A case has been registered against a local CPI(M) leader at Ranni here for allegedly having sexual relations with a woman for over two years under the false promise of marriage, police said on Friday.

The issue came to light after the 32-year-old woman attempted suicide after the accused withdrew from his promise to marry her, they said.

According to the police, the accused -- Alan Mathew -- had sexual relations with the woman several times since June 2024 in his car, at a hotel in Kochi and a resort in Vagamon after promising to marry her.
