In view of the National Marathon dedicated to the martyrdom of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh ji, scheduled for March 22 in Mahilpur, Hoshiarpur district police have released details of alternate traffic routes to ensure public convenience.SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik provided the following information: On the day of the national marathon, all traffic heading from Swarn Farm Chowk on Chandigarh Road towards Mahilpur will be diverted via Purhiran-Mehitiana towards Phagwara. Similarly, traffic from Purhiran Bypass towards Mahilpur will be rerouted to Mehitiana-Phagwara. Traffic at the Mehitiana canal checkpoint will be diverted towards Phagwara. Traffic from Kot Fatuhi canal will be sent towards Mehitiana and Phagwara. All traffic from Naka Adda Chabbewal will be diverted towards village Sasoli side, and traffic from Naka Adda Jejon from Himachal will not be allowed entry towards Garhshankar and Mahilpur.Notably, all traffic from the lane near Heera Electronics next to Mahilpur depot towards Chabbewal and Hoshiarpur side will be diverted. Traffic from Jejon Road near Bhullewal Gujran Gate will be sent towards Chabbewal and Hoshiarpur. Traffic at the checkpoint in village Paddi Sura Singh will be directed towards Morawali canal bridge road. From the toll checkpoint near Banga Road Garhshankar, traffic will be sent towards Nawanshahr Road, and from Banga Road Garhshankar, it will be diverted towards Nawanshahr-Chandigarh Road-Kot Fatuhi Road side. Traffic movement will continue on both sides from Naka Nawanshahr Road Garhshankar towards Nawanshahr and Chandigarh Road. Traffic from Naka Chandigarh Chowk Garhshankar will flow smoothly towards Nawanshahr Road and Chandigarh Road, and from Naka Sri Anandpur Sahib Chowk Garhshankar, it will proceed towards Nawanshahr and Chandigarh side. Traffic from Naka Nangal Road Garhshankar will continue towards Nawanshahr Road and Chandigarh Road.
