Haji Syed Salman Chishty Addresses Global Audience on Sufism at Voices of Faith Dialogue at Barbican Centre,

Haji Syed Salman Chishty, Gaddi Nashin of Ajmer Sharif Dargah and Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, delivered a spiritually profound address on Sufism and the inner journey of self-realisation at the international Voices of Faith dialogue held at the prestigious Barbican Centre in London.

The Voices of Faith gathering, organised by Teamwork Arts in collaboration with the Kamini and Vindi Banga Family Trust, brought together distinguished thinkers, spiritual leaders, scholars and cultural voices from around the world to explore spirituality, wisdom traditions and the role of faith in shaping a compassionate future.

The festival was curated and presented under the leadership of Sanjoy K. Roy, alongside Kamini Banga and Vindi Banga.

The dialogue featured an eminent line-up of international speakers including Sir Trevor Phillips, Marcus du Sautoy, Justice Rohinton F. Nariman, Rabbi Jonathan Romain, Rabbi Deborah Kahn‑Harris, Lama Khyimsa Rinpoche, Mehool Sanghrajka, Shaunaka Rishi Das, Shomit Mitter, Sushma Jansari, Philip Lutgendorf, Nicky‑Guninder Kaur Singh, Mandeep Rai, Georgina Godwin, Mishal Husain, and Ruzbeh Vistasp Hodiwala, among others.

Addressing the global audience, Haji Syed Salman Chishty in conversation with acclaimed broadcaster Georgina Godwin highlighted the timeless message of the Chishty Sufi tradition from Ajmer Sharif — a path rooted in love, service, humility and the unity of humanity.

In his address he said:

“The essence of Sufism is the journey from the self to the Self. Our sages have taught: ‘Man ‘arafa nafsahu faqad ‘arafa rabbahu’ — Those who knows themselves, knows their Lord. When the heart awakens to its inner truth, it transcends divisions of religion, race and nation. What remains is compassion, service to humanity and the recognition that the Divine light shines within every soul.”

Haji Syed Salman Chishty emphasised that in an age marked by global tensions and social fragmentation, spiritual dialogue and interfaith engagement are essential to nurture peace and ethical responsibility.

He further noted that the spiritual legacy of Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishty (Gharib Nawaz) of Ajmer Sharif continues to inspire millions across the world with the universal message:

“Love towards all, malice towards none.”

The Voices of Faith dialogue concluded with a renewed call for deeper collaboration among spiritual traditions, scholars and cultural leaders to promote understanding, compassion and a shared moral vision for humanity’s future. For further news update whatsapp+919910248078
