Rain, snow likely across J-K from March 10–12; moderate snowfall expected in higher reaches
The Meteorological Department has forecast generally cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall in higher reaches across Jammu and Kashmir from March 10 to 12.
Officials said many places across the Valley are likely to receive rain, while higher reaches of Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Anantnag districts may witness moderate snowfall during the period.
The weather activity is expected to cause a drop in day temperatures by around 4–6°C from March 9 onwards till March 12.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has advised farmers to suspend farm operations between March 10 and 12 in view of the expected wet weather conditions.
Light rain or snowfall at isolated places may continue from March 13 onwards, mainly affecting higher reaches, the department added.
