I strongly commend Ms. Sabnam Sheikh for her remarkable courage in publicly exposing the misleading narratives surrounding Operation Sindur. At a time when confusion and politically motivated claims were being amplified, she chose clarity over convenience and truth over propaganda. Such fearless voices deserve recognition.

During Operation Sindur, repeated and unverified allegations — including claims such as “How many Rafales were shot down?” — were circulated without credible evidence. When sensitive national security matters are involved, spreading speculative or misleading information does not strengthen democracy; it weakens national morale and provides space for hostile propaganda.

Let it be clear: constructive criticism is the backbone of democracy. However, deliberately spreading false narratives, manufacturing controversy, or attempting to defame India for political gain crosses the line from opposition into irresponsibility.

Those who continuously attempt to damage the image of the nation through fake controversies, distorted facts, and rumor-driven campaigns must be held accountable under the law. Freedom of expression cannot become a shield for misinformation that harms national interest.

I sincerely appreciate the role played by nationalist Muslims of this country who have come forward courageously to expose wrong narratives, false information, and manufactured controversies. At a time when misinformation spreads rapidly, their clarity, responsibility, and firm stand in favor of truth reflect true patriotism.

As a media professional, I congratulate them for their bravery and commitment. Standing up against distortion and propaganda is not always easy, yet they have done so with determination and integrity for the sake of the nation.
India’s strength lies in citizens who rise above divisions and defend truth with courage. Such efforts strengthen the foundation of our democracy and protect the country’s dignity..

India belongs to all its citizens. Our unity — beyond religion, caste, or political affiliation — is our greatest strength. National interest must always stand above partisan rivalry.
I once again congratulate Sabnam Sheikh for her bravery and urge all responsible citizens to remain vigilant, verify facts, and expose misinformation wherever it appears.

The nation deserves truth, not noise.
It deserves responsibility, not reckless narratives.
