Rising Uttar Pradesh

In Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, held meaningful deliberations with Mr. Kotaro Nagasaki, Hon. Governor, to further strengthen Uttar Pradesh–Yamanashi cooperation and advance our growing strategic partnership.

An MoU was signed to deepen collaboration in industry, tourism and vocational education, with a strong focus on Green Hydrogen, clean energy innovation and technology exchange. Uttar Pradesh is actively developing IIT Kanpur as a Centre of Excellence in Green Hydrogen to enhance energy self-reliance and advance Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s vision for a sustainable future.

I welcome the Hon. Governor’s proposal to lead a delegation of 200 CEOs to Uttar Pradesh in August, which will further accelerate industrial partnerships and investment momentum. UP offers scale, skill and speed, backed by strong infrastructure and seamless facilitation through Invest UP’s dedicated Japan Desk and the proposed Japan Industrial Township in YEIDA.

This MoU was signed on a bright and sunny day in Yamanashi, a positive symbol of the clarity and confidence guiding this partnership. I express my gratitude to the Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture and all stakeholders for their proactive role in deepening this collaboration rooted in shared economic vision and civilizational connect.
