A New Twist for Drug Trafficking through Air Services: Malda Police arrested 4 involving this case

A new twist in the drug trafficking case is opened now. This time, the raw materials for making drugs were being smuggled not by road or water, but directly by air. The Malda district police have exposed the curtain of this international drug trafficking gang. For the first time, the use of aircraft in drug trafficking has come to the fore. Four drug traffickers from Malda were caught with sealed jars filled with narcotics at the Goa Airport. All the four arrested are from the resident of Kaliachak Police Station area of Malda. District Superintendent of Police Abhijit Banerjee gave details in a press conference about where the smugglers got the drugs from and how they were going to smuggle them to other places. He said that two drug traffickers arrested from Kolkata and two more drug traffickers arrested from Goa. The information that came to light after questioning them is that the raw materials for making brown sugar were brought to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata by air from Imphal Airport of Manipur. Then it was brought to Kaliachak in Malda for processing. After that, the brown sugar made in the local factory was spread to different parts of the country. The Superintendent of Police said that two of the leaders of this drug trafficking ring, Zalim Sheikh and Benarul Sheikh, were arrested a few days ago. Based on their information, the remaining four were arrested. Their names are Ismail Sheikh, Mizanur Rahman alias Mamun, Sohrab Ali alias Hajiqul and Abdul Subhan alias Fitchu. The house of each of them is under the Kaliachak police station. The investigation revealed that they lived a very high-class lifestyle, especially in night clubs like Tantra and The Black in Kolkata. They used to spend their money and rent a luxurious flat in Kolkata. Besides, they used to travel to different places in expensive cars. Before their arrest, the two went to Kullu in Himachal Pradesh to spend their leisure time, from where they took a flight to Goa via Delhi. Meanwhile, the Malda district police informed the Goa police about their identities and accordingly, with the help of the Goa police, the Malda district police arrested them from Goa and brought them to Malda on transit remand. The police have applied to the court to take the arrested persons into their custody for further interrogation.

Now the question is how these drug smugglers are able to smuggle drugs from one airport to another despite the tight security arrangements at the airport. Basically, the luggage of passengers at the airport is checked with an X-ray scanner. And in this case, the Central Industrial Security Force, which is in security charge of security, detains anything suspicious and interrogates the person or passenger concerned. So, despite all these security arrangements, how is it possible to smuggle drugs? Is any person in charge of airport security involved in this? Superintendent of Police Abhijit Banerjee said that we are investigating various other issues in detail. He said that it will be possible to catch the remaining criminals involved in this smuggling ring soon.
