Maharashtra signs 19 MoUs worth 14.50 lakh crore at World Economic Forum in Davos

Maharashtra has signed 19 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), worth an unprecedented 14.50 lakh crore rupees, on the very first day of the World Economic Forum, being held at Davos. The MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and state Industries Minister Dr Uday Samant, reinforcing Mr Fadnavis’ assertion that Maharashtra is the Gateway of India for industry and investment.

According to an official statement, these investments span across green energy, food processing, steel manufacturing, IT-ITES, data centres, EV-automobile, shipbuilding and digital infrastructure sectors and will lead to the creation of 15 lakh job opportunities. Over the next two days in Davos, MoUs are expected in sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Digital Infrastructure, FinTech, Logistics, Infrastructure, Shipbuilding, EVs and Renewable Energy.
