Chhattisgarh: Nine Maoists surrender in Gariaband district

In Chhattisgarh, nine Maoists, including six women, surrendered before police in Gariaband district today. A total reward of 48 lakh rupees had been announced for all the surrendered Maoists. These Maoists surrendered before Inspector General of Police Amresh Mishra. On this occasion, they also handed over an AK-47, an INSAS rifle and other weapons. The surrendered cadres included Maoists of the Commander and Divisional Committee Member (DVCM) level. Speaking on the occasion, IG Amresh Mishra said that with this surrender, there are now no active Maoists left in the Gariaband district
