District Legal Services Authority Conducts Anti-Drug Awareness Seminars

Following directives from the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, and orders from District and Sessions Judge Rajinder Agarwal, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Hoshiarpur, organized awareness seminars in Hoshiarpur and its sub-divisions' villages. Led by DLSA Secretary Neeraj Goyal, the initiative aimed to educate youth against drug abuse.Panel advocates Ashish Jyoti, Retainer Advocate Sarita Kanwar, Barjinder Singh, Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel Vishal Kumar, and Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel Sandeep presided over the seminars.Addressing the youth and community, speakers emphasized that the campaign's primary goal is to inspire the younger generation to quit drugs and pursue positive paths, fostering a healthier society. They highlighted how addiction ruins lives, disrupts families, and breeds unrest at home.Participants were informed about the NALSA (Drug Awareness and Wellness Navigation - For a Drug-Free India) scheme 2025, the health, family, and social impacts of drugs, and provisions of the NDPS Act. Para-legal volunteers from DLSA distributed awareness materials at the conclusion.
