Yashoda Scheme Launched in Koraput, Collector Leads Inauguration

Koraput, Sep 13 – The Odisha Government’s ambitious Yashoda Scheme was launched in Koraput on Friday with a vision to support orphaned, single-parent, and neglected children.

The inaugural programme was held at the Sadbhavana Hall in Koraput town, where District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan attended as the chief guest and formally launched the scheme at Friday evening.

Speaking on the occasion, Collector Mahajan described the initiative as a path-breaking step towards ensuring education, security, and welfare for underprivileged children. He stressed that the scheme would not only provide immediate relief but also empower children to pursue a better future.

The Collector also shared a roadmap for implementation, focusing on how more eligible beneficiaries can be brought under welfare initiatives like the Education Support Programme and the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. The guidelines, he said, will serve as a practical framework for effective execution across the district.

The event witnessed the participation of officials, representatives from child welfare organisations, teachers, and members of the local community, who welcomed the scheme as a timely intervention. Many expressed hope that this initiative would significantly improve the lives of vulnerable children in the region.

The Yashoda Scheme, considered a landmark step by the state government, aims to extend holistic care, education, and financial security to children who need it most, marking a new chapter in child welfare efforts in Koraput.
