Sonoscan takes a leading role in voluntary blood donation in Malda District.
Malda district is currently facing a blood shortage. This has created problems for various patients requiring surgery, but even more difficulties are being faced by patients who regularly need blood transfusions. To address this blood shortage, Sonoscan, one of the leading private healthcare institutions in North Bengal, organized a voluntary blood donation camp on the eighth floor of the Sonoscan building, under the management of Sonoscan Seba Trust and in collaboration with the blood bank of Malda Medical College. This blood donation camp is organized every year on January 19th in memory of the late Sarat Chandra Roy and the late Shantilata Roy, the parents of Dr. Swapan Kumar Roy, the head of Sonoscan Healthcare Private Limited. The organization announced that while approximately 100 donors donated blood last year, this year the number has risen to 103. Among them 10 are female donors. Sonoscan authorities have stated that these 103 units of blood will be stored in the blood bank of Malda Medical College for needy patients.
