Delhi Police books 1,170 for wrong-side driving in two-day crackdown
NEW DELHI: (May 24) Delhi Traffic Police has registered 1,170 FIRs and impounded 1,179 vehicles during a special two-day city-wide crackdown against wrong-side driving, an official said on Sunday.
The enforcement drive was conducted on May 22 and 23 across major roads, intersections, highways and accident-prone stretches in the national capital to curb the dangerous practice of motorists driving against the flow of traffic.
According to the police, a total of 12,568 challans were also issued during the operation against violators found flouting traffic norms by driving on the wrong side of the road.
