MUMBAI CIVIC BODY FLOATS GLOBAL TENDER FOR VACCINES, RESTRICTS CHINA

Mumbai. On Wednesday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) floated an expression of interest (EOI) to procure 10 million vaccine doses from vaccine manufacturers abroad. The BMC took the decision on Monday to speed up the vaccination process. 

According to the BMC, all clearances regarding Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson vaccine and Moderna doses will have to be taken by the manufacturers themselves. It has barred Chinese vaccine manufacturers from participating in the procurement process by restricting the participation of countries sharing borders with India.
