*EASTERN RAILWAY TO ORGANISE HIGH-LEVEL MEETING WITH HON’BLE MPs OVER ASANSOL & MALDA DIVISION NETWORK*

Kolkata, September 23, 2024 :

A very significant meeting with Hon’ble MPs is going to be organised by Eastern Railway at Asansol tomorrow (24.9.2024). Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager of Eastern Railway, will be present to discuss with the Divisional Committee of Hon’ble MPs over Asansol and Malda divisions regarding key issues and development initiatives over the divisions. Principal Heads of various departments of Eastern Railway and Divisional Railway Managers of Asansol and Malda divisions will also present in this Divisional Committee Meeting with the Hon’ble MPs.

The agenda for the meeting encompasses a wide range of topics focused on the improvement and enhancement of passenger amenities and the overall infrastructure of the Eastern Railway network. Key issues to be addressed include:

* *Passenger Amenities*: Improvement of facilities at stations, including the development of Amrit Bharat Stations, installation of Foot Over Bridges (FOB), Road Over Bridges (ROB), Road Under Bridges (RUB), lifts, and escalators.
* *Infrastructure Development*: Construction status of new line, Capacity augmentation, station redevelopment work, extension of platforms, and platform sheds.
* *Train Services*: Introduction of new trains, coach augmentation, additional stoppages, and the attachment of Air-conditioned, Sleeper, and General Second class coaches.
* *Safety & Accessibility*: Removal of encroachments, improvement of approach roads, and the construction of concrete pathways.
* *Station Facilities*: Opening of Food Plazas, Food Outlets, and Food Courts, along with the enhancement of PRS/UTS counters at specific stations.
* *Train Stoppages*: Stoppage of different Mail/Express trains at Panagarh, Jamtara, Vidyasagar, Dubrajpur, Siuri, Barakar, Mirza Chowki, Tinpahar, Shikaripara etc..
* *Other Amenities*: Additional drinking water facilities, high mast lighting, additional toilets, beautification of station circulating area, improved station illumination

In the meeting, Shri Khalilur Rahman, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Kirti Azad Jha, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Nalin Soren, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Shatrughan Sinha, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Giridhari Yadav, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Dulu Mahato, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Ajay Kumar Mandal, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Khagen Murmu, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Chandra Prakash Choudhary, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister of Panchayati Raj; and Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Smt. Annapurna Devi, Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Satabdi Roy, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Vijay Kumar Hansdak, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Arun Bharti, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Nishikant Dubey, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri Isha Khan Chowdhary, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Dr. Sarfraz Ahmad, Hon’ble MP (Rajya Sabha), Shri Sibu Soren, Hon’ble MP ( Rajya Sabha) and other dignitaries are expected to grace the occasion.
