Bengaluru Police Deny Permission for Cockroach Janata Party Gathering

Bengaluru: The Cockroach Janata Party, known for its social media campaign against unemployment, price rise, and Prime Minister’s foreign trips, has been denied permission by Bengaluru Police for a public gathering near Town Hall. The group had planned a peaceful human chain protest on May 24 at 11 am to highlight issues including rising prices, unemployment, and the NEET exam controversy. Organizers described the movement as leaderless, emphasizing citizen participation as its core.

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner’s Office issued a notice on May 22 stating no permission was granted for the event. Citing High Court guidelines, police clarified that protests and rallies are permitted only at Freedom Park. Authorities urged the public not to gather near Town Hall or share event invitations on social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, warning of possible legal action to maintain public order.
