Sanjay Raut convicted in defamation case filed by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya's wife

A Mumbai court has convicted Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut in a defamation case on a complaint filed by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya's wife Dr Medha. Raut allegedly made defamatory remarks against her, accusing her and Kirit of involvement in a corruption case. The court has imposed a fine of ₹25,000 on Raut and sentenced him to 15-day imprisonment.
